McCabe, Kathleen
Welcome to Spanish I or Spanish II

Manten la calmaHello, foreign language students!  Spanish I is open to all beginning Spanish students.  Spanish II is open to all students who have previously received credit for Spanish I, either by successfully completing Spanish I or by having received credit for Spanish I through Credit by Exam prior to enrolling in Spanish II.

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.A. in French and a B.A. in Spanish as well as a teaching degree.  Immediately upon graduating, I moved to Mexico for what I thought was going to be a year, but I ended up staying there for nine years!  While living in Mexico, I taught T.E.S.O.L. (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in both Chihuahua and Mazatlán. When I returned to the States, I studied for my Master's degree in Education with a specialty in T.E.S.O.L. at the State University of New York at Buffalo. I am certified to teach Spanish, English as a Second Language, and English Language Arts and Reading.  I have spent the last fifteen years teaching language classes at Hornedo.

As you can see, my interest in and love for language goes back many years.  Through participation in my language classes, I hope to instill in my students the same feeling of excitement about language learning.  It's going to be a great year!

Parents:  My conference period is from 11:34 to 12:34 daily.
